ABOUT
Welcome to Whole Heart Learning! My name is Oksana Fedorchuk. I am a wife, mom, grandma and teacher. My husband Paul and I have four grown children and one precious granddaughter. When I am not busy teaching or caring for my family, I enjoy reading, gardening, afternoon tea gatherings, and being out in nature.
For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. I felt a definite call of God on my life to serve children in my early teen years. I have 14 years of classroom experience teaching kindergarten and over 30 years altogether in serving children.
My teaching philosophy is largely based on Charlotte Mason’s methods, combined with Biblical principles. I would love to be a part of your child’s life.
Thank you for visiting my website. May you be encouraged with the following words: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Teaching Philosophy
Mrs. Fedorchuk’s Teaching Philosophy

-
We have a mandate from God given to us in Deuteronomy 6:6-9 in training children.
-
Having opportunities to impact a child’s life is a tremendous privilege as well as responsibility.
-
Children are born persons. A child already possesses all aspects of personhood: body, soul,
spirit, mind, will, emotions. What a child lacks is not some aspects of their personhood, still
waiting to be discovered, but knowledge and life experience. Therefore, we must nourish a child
as a complete person, which in turn will help them to develop naturally and wholly.

-
Formation precedes information. Although traditional subjects like math and reading are important, our goal is to educate a person as a whole: mind, soul, and physical self.
-
Curriculum is one of the tools we use to teach virtue and shepherd a child’s heart.
-
Education is an Atmosphere- Persons and things around us emit certain air. If a child is met each
day with the joyful smile, it has impact. If a learning space is orderly and aesthetically pleasing, it has impact.
-
Education is a Discipline- the intentional cultivation of habits “formed definitely and thoughtfully, whether habits of mind or of body.”
-
Education is a Life- the presentation of living ideas.
-
Prayer guides all things. “Prayer is the greatest of all forces, because it honors God and brings Him into active aid.” E.M. Bounds
